Almost Party Time!

Just Around the Corner

My nephew will be 1 in May!!!! Can't believe just how fast the time has flown by....
So hard to narrow down themes for his 1st Birthday- the ideas are endless
I just can't decide... I have narrowed it down to a few of my favorite

There's Sock Monkey

There's Cookie Monster theme

Of course the very popular Little Man theme! (mustache)

And the one that's in the lead right now--- Nautical Theme

All these party images are gorgeous... used for inspiration...
Of course I don't have the last say so so we'll see what happens as his special day gets closer!!!

The Tank - Valentine's Box

The Tank

So we were trying to come up with ideas for boxes for Valentine's Day and Jacob couldn't decide..
We looked at making a Lego box, Superman and even Ninja Turtle but in the end we (I) decided that the tank idea was just absolutely awesome that I would try it and if it just didn't look right I would go with a 2nd choice...

This is what I did.....

Found the duck tape at Hobby Lobby

2 different size boxes

I cut out the hole first, then started taping away

matched same size hole in smaller box too
I was going to hot glue them together but ended up using a stapler.

Rolled up a piece of card stock paper
&
and covered it with same duck tape

Once I attached the card stock i sealed the top box and began covering it.

Used a lid I found
 Painted it black...

Progress so far

Cut up a roll of paper towels into 2" each... used 6 on each side
Attached the lid on top with hot glue
Cut out a small hole for the cards to go in
Used black scrapbook paper to cover the rolls and then hot glued everything to the box

I actually already had felt and a dowel so I decided to add last little detail
I cut out small hearts out of felt and hot glued them to the dowel

And there you have it.... The Tank!!!! Im thinking about adding his name somewhere but haven't gotten to that part yet.

Monster Truck Party

MONSTER TRUCK BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Ok so every year, my husband and I decide on no more parties at our house. We've been saying this for the last 3 years... of course we waited till the last minute to decide what to do that we ended up having Jacob's 5th birthday party at our house. There's not much that I can do differently except change themes and use different colors..... So.... this years theme was monster trucks. Jacob became obsessed with Grave Digger a few months back that the theme seemed very fitting. I actually love the colors! Let me rephrase "party" It was more of a small gathering. Just a few of Jacob's friends. It doesn't take much to make him happy :)

Cake Table
Jacob had a blast painting the tire marks on the boards!

Jello shots
Lime and grape flavored jello to match the colors

Hershey bars

Mud Cups
